Broken Embraces is the latest film by Pedro Almodóvar, director of Talk to Her, To Return and many other works. This bold erotic and passionate story is sort of a tribute paid by the Spanish master to one of his favourite film genres - film noir. Mateo, Lena and Ernesto Senior formed a typical noir triangle - Almodóvar explained - the three love fiercely and one of them is very powerful, violent and unscrupulous. The combustion is served. The world premiere of Broken Embraces took place at the Cannes Film Festival, where it was one of the films most appreciated by critics.
